The University of Crete held a welcome ceremony to greet new students entering the International Program in Medicine for the 2024/25 academic year. The event took place at the Medical School and featured a tour at the Medical School Museum and speeches by key university officials, including the Rector of the University of Crete, Professor G. Kontakis, the Vice Dean of the Medical School, Professor G. Chamilos, and the International Program in Medicine coordinator, Professor C. Tsatsanis. Each extended a warm welcome to the incoming students.
In addition to the formal addresses, an overview of the academic program, as well as the various academic and non-academic opportunities available to students, was presented. Coordinators of the first-year courses outlined the curriculum, offering insight into the structure of the studies. A representative from the University of Crete Welcome Office also provided practical advice to help students settle in Heraklion.
Following the ceremony, a reception allowed students and their families to engage with the Medical School faculty and establish connections with one another in an informal setting.
