Dr. Ioannis Sperelakis is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Crete.
He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Crete, where he was admitted in 2002 and completed his studies in 2008.
He subsequently pursued his residency training in Orthopedics, during which he served at the General Hospital of Agios Nikolaos (General Surgery), the Venizeleio General Hospital of Heraklion (initial Orthopedic training), and finally at the University General Hospital of Heraklion, where he completed his Orthopedic residency in 2017.
Following the completion of his residency, he worked for several years as an Orthopedic Consultant at the University General Hospital of Heraklion.
Dr. Sperelakis holds a PhD in Orthopedic Trauma from the Medical School of the University of Crete, and he also obtained a Master’s Degree in Surgical Sciences from the same institution.
He is an active member of A.O. Trauma and serves as an instructor in European-level training courses for Orthopedic residents. In addition, he is a member of the Hellenic Association of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (H A O S T), actively contributing through scientific presentations, as well as a member of A.O. Spine.
Finally, as a Fellow of the Orthopedic Trauma Association (O T A), he completed advanced training at the University Hospital of Cincinnati, Ohio (U. C. Medical Center).
