I was appointed to the position of Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery at the Medical School of the University of Crete in May 2020 and was promoted to the position of Associate Professor in May 2025. I graduated from the Medical School of the University of Crete in 2005 and received the title of Vascular Surgery after training at the University Hospital of Heraklion, Crete. In 2016, I completed my PhD thesis on the assessment of the risk of rupture of small abdominal aortic aneurysms through a biomechanical approach, at the Medical School of the University of Crete and in 2018 the postgraduate program of the University of Thessaly on the ultrasound diagnosis of vascular diseases, receiving a scholarship. From 2018 until my appointment, I had served as an assistant physician at the Vascular Surgery Clinic of the University Hospital of Heraklion.
I have published several articles in international medical journals and various chapters in books. I have given lectures at national and international conferences and have participated in the organization of national and international conferences. I am a member of International and Greek Vascular Societies and Medical Associations and a reviewer in International Journals.
My main clinical interests concern open and endovascular surgery of thoracic and abdominal aortic diseases, carotid disease and peripheral arterial disease. My main research interests concern computational simulation of various vascular diseases with emphasis on aneurysmal disease.
